My First Post - Here Goes Nothing

If you've taken the leap and arrived here, likely from the link provided on my Facebook page, then thank you for that.  I imagine the majority of my readers will be from the bars and plates community, but I hope to provide a bit more than that.  This is the space I've created to speak freely about whatever comes to mind... anything and everything.  Though Facebook itself is supposed to be a space like that, I often find myself censoring the content I post because I am friends with all sorts of family members and others who do not wish to see my two cents show up on their computer, and their feelings end up hurt, etc.  I know there is a simple 'unsubscribe' button to fix this problem, but that's another issue.  The point I am working towards here is this:  You have made the choice to open this blog and read its contents.  This is your option to bail right now, should you be afraid of seeing a curse word, offensive music, or some other shit that makes you feel uncomfortable inside.

I will not tone down my thoughts here.  Not for my family, not for my overly sensitive friends, not for anyone.  In fact, I aim to do the opposite, and give them a new theater for which to organize them into words and hopefully a little entertainment along the way.  My open expression here is absolutely a two-way street.  There is a section on the bottom of this blog to offer your comments, and I hope people will feel free to do so.  I am no more above criticism than anyone else, nor do I ever wish to be.  I am not yet thirty years old, and am the first to admit I know fuck all about how the world works outside my own little house in the woods.

If you're still with me, I'm glad, because it's going to get better and better.  Next entry will be a deeper look into who I am, where I've come from and where I am going at high velocity.  Thank you for reading and take care.

I like to talk about compression-ignition engines, lifting weights, chicks, cigars, whiskey, being a dad, cooking food, growing beards, my wife, daughter, family and friends, and everything in between.  I never bullshit anyone about what I know, and what I don't know.  What you see is what you get, and I hope the longer we know each other, the better people we both become.

Also, as soon as I learn how to embed pictures and videos, my posts will be way more kick ass than this one.  After all, who wants to read a bunch of words without bright colors and moving things to break up the monotony, right?
